The collagen here is low-molecular-weight — and that detail is exactly why it can work. There’s a well-established, highly-cited principle in dermatology (the “500 Dalton rule”) stating that molecules must be under 500 daltons to meaningfully penetrate skin — which is why standard, whole collagen in most “collagen creams” doesn’t actually get absorbed. Because this formula uses a low-molecular-weight, broken-down collagen peptide specifically, it falls into a different category: real studies on similar low-molecular-weight collagen peptides have shown measurable skin penetration — one study found it reaches the dermis within approximately 4 hours — along with significant improvements in wrinkle volume, depth, and skin hydration in controlled trials.

That 4-hour penetration window is also a real, mechanistic reason this is formulated for nighttime, leave-on use. Daytime wear — makeup, washing, movement — would interrupt that absorption window. Overnight use gives the collagen peptide the uninterrupted time it needs to actually reach the skin layers where it can help.
